Lingering

A lily sits blanched after the rain.
Its posture inert, it floats with grace.
Blossom defeating gravity's draw
To guide saints eyes to its essence.

Moments before, colours disaffected,
Moments after, the edges are frayed.
Now, is the time you need to adore,
Use me quickly, time does not restore.

It signifies 'that' moment. All paintings do precisely that. I'm glad it made you think of one specifically
